Our clients in South East London are urgently seeking a Band 8A Psychologist to join their Adult Community Mental Health Team
Hours: Monday- Friday 9am-5pm
Job Description
Required to undertake initial assessments of new referrals to the Service, taking into account current mental state, presenting and historical issues, needs for additional medical/psychological assessment, make recommendations about further support needed around medical/psychological and social intervention required. Includes taking clinical measures.
Timely triage and arrangement of new assessments and interventions
Good report writing skills required to complete assessment reports/onwards referrals in a timely and professional manner.
Comfortable with liaison and joint work with different services and people across the London region.
Experience of delivering therapy/training in a therapeutic modality
Assessment and on-going work requires assessment and management of risk to self/others, including potential forensic history. Familiarity with safeguarding procedures/MARAC.
Hold a caseload of clients, some of whom will require some active case management around referrals onto supporting statutory organisations, other NHS/social care services, and other charitable organisations.
Identifying carers and their needs.
Comfortable with multi-tasking.
Work remotely and on site as needed, using PPE as required.
Attend bi-weekly team meetings, liaise closely with colleagues from different disciplines, taking a lead on discussion of assessments and potentially other areas.
Play a duty role as needed in the team in working hours, taking calls from administrators/non-qualified staff that may have clinical complexity.
Familiarity with Veterans’ needs would be helpful.
There may be some expectation for this person to provide clinical supervision or training to others, taking advantage of specialist knowledge.
