Our clients in Sussex are urgently seeking to recruit a Locum Band 8a Psychologist to join their Acute Services.
Hours: Monday to Friday 9 to 5.
Job Description
The Oakland ward is a 16 bedded mixed sex , working age adult ward. The post holder would support the MDT by providing mainly 1:1 psychological assessments and interventions to patients who present with severe and enduring mental health presentations, i.e. schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and personality disorder.
The Crisis team provides support and mental health interventions for people who have complex mental health needs. The post-holder will have the opportunity to work with people with a wide range of mental health problems, providing assessments and interventions to clients, their families and carers, as well as support to the team through case formulation and reflective practice.
The successful post holder will join a friendly, highly-skilled and enthusiastic multi professional team comprising a full range of professionals including psychologists, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, peer support workers, support workers, and occupational therapists. We are looking for someone who is a strong team-player and who also has a commitment to working alongside people with lived experience to improve and enhance our services.
Main Duties
To work as a member of the clinical service/ team, providing a high quality, specialist applied psychology service to clients, their families or carers. In addition, to support psychological practice within the team through consultation, supervision, formulation and training. To participate in systematic clinical governance.
As part of the wider Western mental health service you will also be joining a community of psychological therapists who bring a rich variety of skills and experience. You will receive regular clinical supervision from an experienced practitioner psychologist.
