Our clients in Oxford are urgently seeking to recruit a
Band 8a Psychological Therapist to join their Community CAMHS Service.
Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
Job Summary
The post holder will sit in the Psychological Therapies (PT) Pathway offering brief individual and group CBT interventions. This will involve working closely with all pathway staff and ensuring the delivery of highly innovative and adaptive evidence-based care, ensuring there is timely access to CBT, working creatively with resource available.
The role may include supporting the CBT lead in the management of the CBT waiting list: managing the boundaries of this, responsible for considering suitability of referrals and allocation to clinicians, whilst holding oversight and shared responsibility of all patients on waiting list.
Maintaining a senior clinical lead role within the PT pathway holding oversight of and responsibility for clinical governance ensuring there is robust clinical governance in place including risk management, outcome measures, adherence to key performance indicators and overseeing audit studies and research. The post holder will be expected to utilise audit to help inform policy and service developments within the PT pathway.
There will be an expectation for the post holder to contribute to enriching and developing the CBT culture within the Borough and to work in close collaboration with the CAT, dynamic, group analytic leads, ensuring all treatment models in the PT pathway are valued and held in mind.
The post holder will work both autonomously and collaboratively as required within both professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.
Active recruitment of and oversight, support and supervision for trainees or honorary staff who would be interested in a CBT placement opportunity may be required.
Specialist clinical supervision of junior CBT staff within the PT pathway as well as expert advice and teaching to other professionals will be expected.
Working with senior leadership to develop and manage relationships key stakeholder relationships, including with VCS and PCNs to develop and deliver more integrated working for psychological therapy pathway patients across the local borough.
The post-holder will ensure that the clinical and strategic priorities are taken forward in line with the Long Term Plan, for example development of joint working with primary care and with voluntary sector organisations.
Taking up delegated responsibility for representing the pathway at system wide forums as agreed.
Liaising with other professionals to support continuity of care for Psychological Pathway patients across the service and wider system as needed.
Undertaking complex specialist assessments, managing risk and providing direct evidence-based interventions, formulating and implementing appropriate treatment plans within the clinical model of the service,
Working and contributing as a senior team member providing both a psychological perspective on clients’ psychological care and contributing to the undertaking of screening and triage.
Supporting research initiatives within the pathway when possible.
