Our clients in Oxford are urgently seeking to recruit a Locum Band 6 CPN to join their Forensic Community Mental Health Team.
Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
To work as part of a multi disciplinary team providing care to service users who are accepted by the Forensic Service.
The service users will be the responsibility of the Local Authority and CCG in relation to section 117 Aftercare or those who are delegated by the service.
To work with service users and their carers to assess their needs, identify options to meet those needs and negotiate, deliver and review appropriate care, working towards recovery.
To take on the role of social supervisor for conditionally discharged restricted patients.
To give guidance and advice to staff members within the service regarding statutory and policy procedural responsibilities i.e. Mental Health Act, Safeguarding Adults and Children, MAPPA, Care Act etc.
To carry out the role of Care Co-ordinator to an allocated number of service users and take responsibility for ensuring that patient’s care is assessed, planned and reviewed as part of the Care Programme Approach.
The following skills have been specified:-
Professional qualifications in social work; CQSW, DipSW and/or social work undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
Registered with HCPC.
Substantial amount of relevant post qualifying social work experience in a mental health setting (minimum of one and half years).
Social work experience with vulnerable and difficult to engage adults particularly with mentally disordered offenders.
Good communication skills (both written and oral).
Ability to work in a MDT and Multi-Agency Teams.
Knowledge, understanding and implementation of risk assessment and management processes.
