Our clients in Surrey and Borders are urgently seeking to recruit 2 Locum Band 6 Community Mental Health Nurses to join their Older Peoples Acute Mental Health Service.
Hours: Long Days 7.30am to 8pm, 7.30pm to 8am.
Job Description
The post holder will be working within a multi-disciplinary team, assessing vulnerable and sometimes physically frail people with acute mental health needs; implementing programmes of treatment and care to improve or stabilise their presenting health needs and wellbeing; promoting independence as well as supporting their families and carers.
Purpose and Overview
  • To deliver high standards of safe care in the day to day running and coordination of the ward, working in collaboration with dedicated multi-disciplinary staffs, relevant partners and person’s accessing the service, their carers/families as appropriate.
  • To provide effective support to colleagues both junior and in senior leadership positions
Responsibilities
​Being a staff nurse with evidence of professional development and clinical knowledge as well as having supervisory, training and leadership responsibilities where appropriate. Act as a role model for colleagues and others in relation to professional and personal conduct and practice, ensuring all policies and procedures relevant to the role are implemented and complied with.
​Working with the Ward Manager/Deputy Ward Manager undertaking delegated tasks in team management, taking initiative and being creative in finding solutions to problems. In the absence of the Ward Manager/Deputy Ward Manager the post holder will be responsible for delegating duties to other members of the team and taking a lead on the day to day running of the ward, undertaking management responsibilities as requested.
