Our clients in Kent are urgently seeking to recruit a Locum Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse to join their Older Adults Community Mental Health Team.
Hours: Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm
The post holder will work as a member of the community mental health team for Older People (CMHT). They will manage a defined caseload of service users living in the community who have a range of complex mental health needs. They will undertake holistic community assessments of service users referred to the locality team utilising evidence based assessment tools, risk assessment tools, mental state examination and integrated clinical notes system. They will offer a variety of therapeutic interventions including supportive therapy, medicine management and problem solving techniques. They will participate in the on-call duty system for the team along with other members of the MDT and attend all relevant clinical reviews. The post holder will promote an increased awareness of mental health issues for older people within the community and work closely with primary care, voluntary and statutory agencies. As appropriate, they will provide supervision to junior staff and students on fieldwork placements with the team and will contribute to the development and learning for themselves and others.
